Underground
The deafening noise of the London Tube in motion, the predictable rythm of the doors opening and closing at each station, the neverending flow of commuters coming in and out. We stare into the void, into our phones or towards our friends. Time appears suspended as we wait for the train to carry us to our next destination, but life never really stops in this elaborated microcosm.
Underground is an exploration of life during those in-between moments. Under the harsh lights of the train, I capture life in the waiting - capturing the dreamers, the hopeful, the socialites, the bored, the unhappy. Capturing a smile, a stare, a look, a face. Capturing bodies colliding with each other, aware and non aware. This series has been shot on the Central & Victoria lines of the London Underground, as well as Overground trains.
