Under the neon lights, your face tells a thousand stories. Stories of strength, stories of hurt. Stories of loneliness, stories of playfulness. You can be anyone you’d like, as your steps echo the silence, and the silence, the night.
This series is exploring how night scenes are able to create a whole new atmosphere and storyline, creating mystery out of the mundane. Observed, or observer, the reality seems to shift and change in front of our eyes, with no anchor to establish the truth. Whether solitary figures, or subjects in a crowd, the mystery surrounding their circumstances is opaque, with only the viewer’s imagination to complete the story. Night scenes blessed by artificial lights belong to the world of illusions and theatre, where nothing that we see is just as it seems.
