The world goes through a transformation when the sun is down. What seemed like a normal street during the day becomes a strange alleyway with neon lights at night, leaving all kinds of possibilities for what it is, and what might be happening there.
This series is exploring how night scenes are able to create a whole new atmosphere and storyline, creating mystery out of the mundane. Observed, or observer, the reality seems to shift and change in front of our eyes, with no anchor to establish the truth. Whether solitary figures, or subjects in a crowd, the mystery surrounding their circumstances is opaque, with only the viewer’s imagination to complete the story.
Night scenes blessed by artificial lights belong to the world of illusions and theatre, where nothing that we see is just as it seems.
