the lightness of being
I have long been a B&W street photographer. In my discovery of colour, I was initially drawn to shapes, colours and geometry that elevate the mundane into visual poetry - creating both aesthetic and emotional images. This series is made of images that are simple in composition, with singular subjects, and singular stories - away from the chaos and complexities of modern life. Shapes and colours create new canvas for my stories, but keeping a sense of lightness, of dream-like existence that transports us beyond the real.
With these images celebrating what’s beautiful in this world, I wanted to create a refuge for my thoughts. I wanted a place where I could dream with no consequences, away from our complex, complicated lives where reality is often too big to comprehend, too complex to control.
